TIPS FOR YOUR 30'S

Please keep in mind skin care is very important in all decades of your lifetime. However, while in your teenage years and your early 20’s almost always gift you with beautiful skin, this might not be the case when you start reaching your 30’s and beyond. In this part of your life, thanks to pregnancy, work stress and a hectic domestic life your beautiful young looking skin might start to lose some of its radiance.

The good news is that the challenges you experience in your 30’s can be slowed down with the right type of skin care regimen. So, what should you do apart from applying the routine cleanser, moisturizer and sunblock to maintain beautiful skin? Here’s is a 8-part easy to do collection of the absolute must do’s that will go a long way to slow down the aging process, whatever decade you find yourself in.

  • First and foremost, find a good cleanser.

I know this might not sound like a sexy part but your entire skincare routine rests on finding the right cleanser. It is really is an important and often overlooked part of your skin care routine. Balance is the right word here. A pH balanced cleanser will help establish a baseline for everything else you do with your skin.

If the cleanser is too strong, it will leave your skin feeling dry and tight, then the moisturizer you use next will need to be more emollient than necessary, resulting in a coating feeling and an oily complexion a few hours later. This stripping (cleaning) and coating process(moisturizing) is one of the reasons so many people have problems with their skincare process and have problems with their skin.

Although finding a good cleanser sounds relatively easy it, for some it can be a lot harder than it looks with so many products on the market to choose from. Stay away from cleansers with Sodium Lauryl Sulfates. This is a very common ingredient in many skincare brands. Just so you know this ingredient is also used in industrial solvents to clean the grease off your driveway.

So what to do? All skin types need a sulfate free gentle cleanser, one that is pH balanced so as not to disrupt the natural protection (acid mantel) of the skin. It should be strong enough to remove make-up but not too strong to strip the skin.

Look for a cleanser that’s pH balanced. Something that’s around a 7 pH. A good cleanser should leave the skin feeling soft, clean and “right”. It also needs to be able to remove your make-up, and the daily dirt and grime of life.

Our gentle, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate-Free cleansers do much more than simply cleanse; these mild cleansing agents remove surface debris including excess oil and makeup without over-drying and stripping, leaving your skin feeling super soft, fresh and clean while also optimizing the skin for other facial treatments.

X-Trap+ always gets rave reviews for its gentle but effective formulation. It has a cleansing agent derived from coconuts, smells great and has additional anti-pollution protection. Some say it’s the best cleanser they have used and of course, I say … it’s amazing. It is also super concentrated so you only need a small drop so it will last a long time. It has a pH of about 6.9. so, it is designed to work with the body, not against it.

Supermild™is another industry favorite. This unique cleansing crème was formulated specifically to help soothe and protect, while also helping to reduce sensitivities that can occur when the skin is challenged by environmental stressors (pollution, etc..); Developed without the use of parabens, sulfates or fragrance, Supermild™ is also gluten-free (you're welcome). It helps to fight against premature aging with antioxidant-rich botanical extracts that help to reduce the harmful effects of free radical damage. It is a crème formulation that lushes up to a beautiful foam. Love this.

  • Exfoliate properly to rejuvenate your skin cells.

When you reach your 30’s, the slower cell metabolism results in what appears to be less toned skin. It also might appear congested and not have the same “glow” that you used to have.

This could be the result of many factors but can be resolved by applying good quality exfoliating agents. These could be gentle exfoliating scrubs or Lactic acid and Salicylic acid serums and peels.

You gotta try Sir Activ+! First off, this scrub smells incredible. It is phalate free It has Zeolites that in addition to the gentle exfoliation helps to draw impurities from the pores. I use it once a week and after a gentle scrub lay down for about 10 minutes before I wash it off. Unbelievable.

If scrubs aren’t your thing try the Youth Accelerator+ lactic acid peel. The smells here are to die for. Don’t use this when you're hungry (wink wink) … really, don’t. Double Trouble is also a huge favorite with the pomegranate and acai mix that will get you polished up in a flash.

  • Moisturize.

Most of us already know that the human skin is the body’s largest organ and requires regular attention to stay young, blemish-free and healthy. So, it should be easily understood that daily moisturizing is vital for healthy skin. Moisturizing everyday helps to reduce the chance of developing extreme dryness or oiliness. Both extremes are harmful for skin and cause common skin conditions like acne.

The most important times to use moisturizers are after a bath, after shaving or exfoliation. For some, this might be twice a day. Moisturizing after a shower is very important because hot water strips all the moisture and oils out of your skin, leaving it parched and dry. While hot water may be relaxing, it also wreaks havoc on your skin. Never skip your daily moisturizer.

Did you know that moisturizing everyday helps your skin stay young?

The skin on your face, ears, neck and chest are very sensitive to environmental changes and because they are exposed to the sun are the most frequent areas of the body known to develop skin cancers. These areas of skin also shed cells more rapidly than other parts of the body and therefore need moisture to repair itself, which allows for younger skin cells to rise to the surface.

Using a daily moisturizer ensures that the skin’s blemishes are camouflaged. That is because moisturizing tends to make the skin have a slight sheen, and those with any tint or self-tanner even out different skin tones.

If you are new to SIRCUIT we recommend starting with Day Care™+. It’s an amazing, multi-active, protective moisturizer. This silky, light emulsion replenishes your skin's natural moisture balance as helps to guard against environmental stressors and the harmful effects of free radicals that can lead to accelerated aging. It also features important ingredients that result in a smoother, more hydrated complexion as well as Zinc Oxide to help protect against environmental damage. The soft vanilla scent leaves you with a touchable, soft finish and a beautifully glowing appearance.

  • Avoid Harsh Treatment Products.

Acne is a common problem faced in the 30’s but it requires a sensible common-sense approach to protect your skin from damage. The one thing I can say is first, stop touching your face. I know this sounds like an obvious tip but you would be surprised to know how many people can’t help but pick and prod there face. (confession: I know it’s hard to do)

Take a skincare break. Stop using your loaded routine of active products and ingredients for a day. Let your skin breath for a moment. Rinse your face with warm water only.

Start again the next day by re-establishing the natural pH balance of your skin with a gentle non-drying cleanser. (X-Trap+ or Savior+ is our recommendation) Most of the acne treatment products out there contain harmful drying chemicals that obstruct the natural pH of your skin, making your skin appear red, (which is inflamed by the way) dry and dull. Also, please try and stay away from the TV advertised products with inexpensive ingredients and “special” payment plans, but that’s another story.

Keep your skin clean and well hydrated. Not dry and tight. Try Immaculate Mist. This has terrific anti-bacterial properties and is a great way to keep your skin hydrated and not feeling “coated” with a heavy moisturizer.

If you have a breakout, the best way to address this is to ‘spot treat’ the specific acne. Say you have a small acne on your chin, then only apply directly to the chin. I love Fixzit+ for this. It also helps to heal the blemish (some say almost overnight) and is also enriched with Azelaic Acid, from the potato tuber, which naturally brightens and assists in keeping the skin clear.

If you are undergoing hormonal fluctuations in your 30’s and your skin is losing glow, try using SIRCUIT Agent serum which is specifically formulated to address adult problem skin. Of course, if these problems persist for a month or so it might be time to consult a professional skincare expert.

  • Add Antioxidants and Vitamins To Your Skincare Routine.

Vitamins like A, C and E are vital for your skin by this time and these can be applied easily in the form of serums, s and moisturizers. These vitamins are vital for the skin in 30’s which has become tired after pregnancy, irregular periods, birth control pills, UV sunrays, and daily exposure to pollutants.

SIRCUITSKIN’s large assortment of serums and moisturizers all have a multitude of antioxidant fighting ingredients and we are known for having some of the newest (and best) anti-aging ingredients on the market today.

What these do is to help prevent the formation of free radicals and to keep a check on the one of the significant causes of aging skin. They provide a full spectrum (multiple versions) of antioxidant protection, that help neutralize the free radicals improving the overall appearance of problem skin.

However, including antioxidant rich foods like berries, tomatoes, salads and green leafy vegetables in your daily diet also helps to fend off those harmful free radicals keeping your skin looking beautiful.

  • Apply Sunscreen When Going Out In the Sun.

When your skin is exposed to the sun, the aging process is initiated way too soon. Duh? Leaving your home without the protection of sunscreen can cause major harm to your skin in the 30’s.

We recommend applying a sunscreen rich in zinc oxide to lay a ‘protective shield’ when you head out in the sunlight. If you are still searching for the right sunscreen, try Sol Avert SPF 30. This is a lightweight, matte sunblock with 13.5% Zinc protection. It provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. It's transparent and non-whitening. It hydrates, smooths and softens the skin. It's PABA-free and fragrance-free. It's great for daily use and can be applied under make up and it offers antioxidant rich protection.

Don’t you all hate that spray stuff from the drug store? That stuff feels like a thick coating …ugh. Sol-Avert SPF 30 is so super smooth, you won’t even know it’s on. It’s also cruelty free, which is always a good thing.

One closing note: Please remember to re-apply after swimming and it’s always a good idea to re-apply every hour or so and try to limit your time in the direct sun. Another important point is to wear a sunscreen even if it’s cloudy out. The UVA and UVB rays are unforgiving and still have the same effect as when it’s sunny.

  • Invest In A Gentle Eye Cream.

Under eyes are the first part of our face that starts showing those depressing signs of aging. Dark circles and crow’s feet to name a few. To prevent this, include a daily routine of eye cream application in your skin care plan.

We have 4 amazing products specifically formulated to address these concerns. I recommend White out+. This is incredible stuff and you only need a very small amount so it will last for a long time.

It is formulated to target the specific needs of the eye contour area, where puffy eye bags and dark circles can be a problem. This precious formula is specifically designed to help diminish the appearance of shadows and reduce the look of the bags you'd prefer not to carry by immediately camouflaging dark circles with color-correcting diamond core particles. A Chiral blend of skin-supporting ingredients help to improve tone, while Biolumen™ Firm, a brand new technology, captures UV light as energy, and like LED light therapy, transfers it to beneficial aspects of the skin helping to promote skin-radiance. Finally, Zinc Oxide is added to help protect this delicate area from environmental damage. This product really is a must have.

Remember to apply with your ring finger in slow motion under your eyes. Avoid rubbing your cream and prevent contact with your eyelashes to avoid skin irritation and eye puffiness.

A good quality multi beneficial under eye cream, like White out + helps to prevent under eye skin from looking dull and control the formation of expression lines and wrinkles. Check out our 3 other options here.

  • Consult A Skincare Professional At Least Twice A Year.

It is beneficial to meet a skincare professional at least twice a year for skin examination and consultation. They can help you figure out the problem areas with your skin. They will also help you to figure out whether the skin care products you are using are sufficient for you or if there is requirement of any modification.

Experts generally recommend having treatment facials once in a month to remove clogged pores and blackhead formation. It also feels fantastic.

If your skin has been a victim of bad weather, stressful life and hormonal imbalance, skincare experts are the right person to seek help and to help correct the issue. By following these easy tips and showing a little love for your skin, you can reverse the signs of 30’s aging creep, extending your youthful look and vitality of your skin.
